Chief Executive Officer's Secretariat
The leadership role of the Chief Executive Officer's (CEO) office is critical in the success of the Coffee Industry Corporation Ltd. This has been realised hence the Secretariat managing the functions directly under the CEO's office.
The Secretariat comprises:
- Board Secretariat
- Industry Support Coordination
- Public Relations Office, and
- Office of the CEO Support Services
These are offices and functions that report directly to the CEO.
Functions
The main functions of the Secretariat include:
- Secretarial and Support Duties to the Board,
- Administer CIC Policies, the CIC Act and its Constitution,
- Conducting Annual General Meetings and Meetings,
- Preparation and lodgment of Annual Returns and Reports,
- Provide Support Services to the Industry Subsectors,
- Management of legal matters,
- Management of Public Relations Activities and
- Office Support to CEO’s Office
Board Secretary
The office of the Board Secretary is important within the CIC structure. The main functions of the Board Secretary include:
- Secretarial and Support Duties to the CIC Board;
- Administration of CIC Policies, Act and Constitution;
- Conducting AGMs and Meetings;
- Preparation and lodgement of Annual Returns and Reports;
- Management of legal matters.
Industry Support
The main functions of the Industry Support is to provide Support Services to the Industry Subsectors which include the following activities:
- Self Regulation of the Coffee Industry ;
- Research, Data Collection and Information Dissemination;
- Financial sustainability;
- Political Lobbying;
- Capacity development;
- Networking;
Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation Unit
The key responsibilities of the Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation Unit include:
- Lead and Coordinate Policy Analysis;
- Strategic Planning, Programmes and Projects Development;
- Soliciting Funding and Support, Coordination of Implementation and Monitoring and Evaluation.
This is achieved through the following:
- Institutionalization of Policy Analysis and Strategic Planning within CIC.
- Resourcing the Strategic Programmes and Projects
- Monitoring and Evaluation
- Project Monitoring and Evaluation Unit Capacity Development
Public Relations
The key responsibilities are to undertake and coordinate all Public Relations activities and communication between the CEO and the industry stakeholders, network partners both internally and externally. The office stands to provide information to improve the image of CIC.
The activities include:
- Mass Publicity and Awareness
- Public relation duties
- Forging Networks and partnerships
- Engage in Promotions and Marketing
